Mnemonic:
RIM_GANYMEDE_N4
Name:
RIM_GANYMEDE_N4
Description:
Passive Radar Acquisitions on Jovian side of Ganymede.
Payload:
RIME
Pointing
Pointing Type:
nadir
Target:
5
PTRSnippet file:
Advanced
Scheduling Rules:
Jovian side.
any rule that is used to schedule the observation: repetition rules, continuous (plasma instruments), one-off, every orbit, every day, etc
Avoidance Rules:
Anti-Jovian side.
conditions that make the observation not possible (e.g. thruster firing)
Comments:
Because of the intermittent nature of Jupiter radio emission, and the possibility to produce predictions of its intensity, observations on the Jovian side of Ganymede are in principle possible. This enables both active and passive acquisition on the Jovian side of Ganymede. When the active radar cannot be operated due to the strong Jovian emissions, a limited amount of passive acquisitions on the Jovian side of Ganymede is planned to be performed (RIME Receive only mode)
