Jupiter Nadir MAJIS Scan
Observations of Jupiter clouds and spectroscopy of minor gases.
Scanning the instrument slit over Jovian disk (vertical direction) by means of internal pointing mirror, both dayside and nightside. Aims to cover the entire equatorial region (-30°:+30°)
pointing type: YS, NADIR with fixed offset around Y (‘nadir offset MAJIS scan’)
satellite orientation: HORIZONTAL
Duration: 20min/cube




Most common MAJIS observing types for Jupiter. Every three Earth days. If data volume is available, a set of 2-3 cubes (depending on distance) shall be acquired for a full longitudinal coverage of the visible hemisphere every Jupiter rotation (9.55 h).
