MAJIS GCO500 High Resolution
Observations in true push-broom of specific targets on the surface using motion compensation with the scanner
30 km cross-track x 8.7 km along-track @ 75 m/pixel
30 km cross-track x 17.4 km along-track @ 150 m/pixel (spatial binning x2)

Pointing: Nadir pointing, NYS ( ‘motion compensation PB’)
Satellite orientation: MAJIS slit perpendicular to the ground-track
Duration: One acquisition: 60 sec; switch-on procedure: 10 minutes (TBC)




Observations spread during the entire 132 days GCO500 duration (dayside) With selective downlink, MAJIS foresees ~ 6 HR observations / days (out of which 2 will be downloaded on the basis of the analysis of the 6 browse datasets). A minimum of two sunlit orbital segments per day with NYS for 1 hour (out of 8 orbits / day) are required for implementing 6 MAJIS observations per day. As short segments with NYS close to the equator have very little impact on the energy budget, additional NYS segments may be considered at low latitude for specific MAJIS observations.
